On Thursday I got myself new runners...for walking or at least that's what I told Ben. I used to be a mad keen runner in my previous life...the one without kids! I'd love to start again but Ben thinks it might be slightly unwise only 8 weeks after a caesarean.
Yesterday I got dressed at 6am after feeding Samuel and went for a walk. This morning I did the same....except I added in a little something. I ran this morning. Well not really a run, a slow jog I should call it! Not very far I must add, only about 300m and it hurt almost every part of my body. I am extremely out of running condition. I think I will add a little jog into my daily walk every couple of days and get back into running. Real running.
And then after Easter I will get back on my horse so I can do more of this...
From an even older previous life...

Ha! A woman after my own heart. After a visit to the physio (in preparation for clinical pilates) she gave me pelvic exercises and said I should wear Spanx (!) and go walking. So I paid a visit to Lululemon and I'm in love with their clothes...so comfy. So I did the same. Put on my clothes and my Asics Kayanos (which were still brand new from before birth) and went for a walk. We have such high expectations of our bodies, don't we?
Hmm, yes, and this time round seems worse for me. I seem to see skinny new mums everywhere I look! Perhaps it is because my age is closer to 40 this time than it was last time? I'm paranoid about loosing my milk supply for doing too much exercise too soon though.
I'm the opposite. I gained 18kg in 6mths last time. This time 20kg all up which I lost 14kg in the first 2 weeks. Now just to budge those las pesky few.
